Arkansas’s 18 Qualifying Conditions for Medical Marijuana

When the bill was passed in 2016, the Arkansas medical marijuana act qualifying conditions, (there are 18 of them), became the legal list of conditions that allow you to get an Arkansas medical marijuana card. The state of Arkansas now lets its residents who are over the age of 18 purchase marijuana from licensed medical dispensaries if they have valid Arkansas identification, and have one of the following qualifying conditions for a medical card in Arkansas.

There are currently 18 Arkansas medical marijuana act qualifying conditions that let you get a card. Medical cannabis is used a lot for the treatment of pain, inflammation, nausea, insomnia, and mood disorders. The department of health has carefully selected these 18 qualifying conditions as being right for this type of treatment.

  • Cancer
  • Glaucoma
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Hepatitis C
  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
  • Tourette’s syndrome
  • Crohn’s disease
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • PTSD
  • Severe arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Cachexia (wastingsyndrome)
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Intractable pain pain that has not responded to ordinary medications, treatment or surgical measures for more than six (6) months
  • Severe nausea
  • Seizures including those characteristic of epilepsy
  • Muscle Spasms Severe and persistent muscle spasms including without limitation those characteristic of multiple sclerosis
